17th Anniversary of 9-11...
On the 17th Anniversary of 9-11, we continue prayers for a path to peace. (Picture above - TishTrek and husband Harry @ the podium inside the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City). It was the privilege of a lifetime for us to be with leaders from around the world on a night when honoring excellence in writing and reporting was the common language uniting all of us. As one of the proud sponsors of the Annual U.N. Correspondents' Dinner, we enjoyed honoring excellence in writing and communications by helping to fund scholarships for international university students who had the courage & talent to tackle some of the difficult issues of our time. Through their magnificent words, they successfully created content that helped readers see through the lens of their research & life experiences. These students inspired all of us. I have confidence the next generation will pick up where we leave off.

Carmie Brady Inspires a Community AGAIN!

This Weekend, TishTrek - THE JOB BLOG stops to HONOR the love of a mom gone too soon. The legacy of the beautiful and gregarious Carmie Brady lives on through the acts and deeds of her wonderful family again this weekend. Her husband - Charlie Brady - and their amazing sons transformed a dark time in their life & a devastating loss into an awe-inspiring opportunity & mission-in-motion to help strangers - connected only by a common language called "illness."

At every fundraiser, it is humbling to watch this family in action as their positive attitudes drive them to leverage their remarkable skills, competencies and determination to help seriously ill children and their heart-sick families. They inspire others at every turn.

For five hours this Sunday, with the help of anyone who can spare $20.00 and an hour of their time - this family will achieve another milestone & produce results that will live on in the lives of others forever... For another year, they will not stop until the results of this day are transformed into gifts that help children navigate their way through unimaginable circumstances. I hope you will join them.

When they started this event 3 years ago, I handed Charlie a hand-painted wooden plaque which reads, "Try to live your life with the music of a bagpiper in your heart" because his family has taught so many others to do just that. So... like a kid at Christmas, this Sunday @ Bar A in Belmar, NJ - I'll be sitting with a cold one awaiting anxiously for the annual arrival of the Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore, (a Tish Favorite for sure!). The music produces "that moment" which reminds all of us how blessed our community is to have "The Brady Bunch" and their Carmie's memory & legacy in our midst.

At all the Brady Bunch gatherings and fundraisers, there is a feeling in the room that is hard to describe, but I'm convinced it's the warmth of Carmie's embrace every time her incredible boys act in her name.

On the back of that same plaque I wrote, "May the bright light of your beautiful Carmie's memory warm you today & always..." Well done, Carmie. No wife could wish for more; no mom could be prouder; and some days do not gets better than this for a community. Thank you.

- Tish
